Rock Mix Engineer
Helping Thoughtful Bands Reach Creative Fulfillment
Bridging The Gap
You know that feeling when a song is almost there, but something's just...missing? As a rock mix engineer, every artist I've worked with has felt that gap between what's in their head and what's coming through the speakers.
I love working with artists who really care about their craft - the ones who put thought into their lyrics, who aren't afraid of unconventional arrangements, who want their music to mean something.
I've been lucky enough to engineer for bands like Foo Fighters, Nine Inch Nails, and Steven Wilson, and earned a Grammy working with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross on the film “Soul.”
But what matters most is what I learned about bridging that gap - taking what's in your head and making it come through the speakers exactly the way you imagined it.
Think of me as that extra set of ears who gets what you're trying to achieve and knows how to help you get there.
Let's Build Something Together
Making music is personal. It's your vision, your sound, your story. The people you work with should really get that - not just understand it, but feel it.
As part of your team, my job is simple: help you make the music you hear in your head become reality. Music that connects. Music that matters.
Tell me about what you're working on. If we click and share the same vision, we can map out a clear path forward and bring your music to life together.

Mix Engineer | Creative Partner
Mixing Your Music: The Process
Let's talk about mixing - it's that crucial final step where everything falls into place. You know what I mean - when the vocals sit perfectly in the track, when that bass line hits just right, when every little detail you spent hours perfecting finally gets its moment to shine.
When you work with me, you're getting more than just technical mixing. You're getting a creative partner who can help spot those moments where something's not quite clicking - maybe it's a bridge transition that needs tweaking, a chorus that could hit harder, or just something you can't put your finger on.
I'm here to help translate what you're hearing in your head into reality. Sometimes that means subtle mix moves, sometimes it means exploring arrangement tweaks or new sonic directions - whatever serves the song best. The goal isn't just making things sound "good" - it's about capturing the feeling you had when you first wrote that song. The excitement. The emotion. The vision.
You've already put your heart into writing and recording. My job is making sure listeners feel exactly what you felt when you created it.
How We'll Work Together
I like to work with you to fully understand your vision before ever touching a fader. It's not just about the technical stuff - I want to know what you're trying to express emotionally so my mixes can support that feeling. This means your music will sound the way you imagined it—or even better—because we're aligned from the start.
My approach is pretty hands-on. I'll send you an early "vibe check" mix to make sure we're on the right track from the start. After you've had a chance to live with it and send your thoughts, we'll jump on a video call with high-quality audio to work through everything together.
I've found this creates a much better connection than trying to explain mix notes over email, and it helps us get to that "oh yeah, THAT'S it!" moment faster and easier. And don't worry about getting it perfect right away—I offer unlimited revisions until you're completely satisfied with the results.
You'll save time, avoid frustration, and end up with a mix that truly captures what makes your music special.

“[Brendan] took on shaping an album with me and showed incredible patience and kindness throughout. Without him, it wouldn't be the incredibly polished final product I envisioned it could be for years. He's an absolute professional and I've learned many lessons in a short time.”

“We could not be happier with Brendan’s work… Our album had a lot of tonal and textural variety. We had tracks ranging from heavy rock and shoegaze to solo acoustic and instrumentals. Brendan was able to dial them in nicely. Highly Recommend!

Brendan’s Story
Brendan's journey in the music industry started in LA's major recording studios. He worked his way up from runner to assistant to engineer while learning directly from some of the industry's most innovative minds. Along the way, he engineered sessions for artists like Foo Fighters, Nine Inch Nails, and Steven Wilson and earned a Grammy for his engineering work with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. But what stuck with him wasn't the credits - it was the deep understanding of what makes records truly connect with listeners.
He was only about five years old when an angry teenage sister triggered his passion for music. She got into an argument with their Mom, stormed to her room, and blasted Led Zepplin so loud that the house shook. Little Brendan had never experienced the raw power of music before, and it reached into his core and ignited a lifelong passion.
He fell deeply in love with music and started playing drums (of course, playing along to John Bonham). The passion was so deep that he knew there was nothing else he’d rather do with his life.
His teenage years saw the days of grunge rock, and he fell in love with bands like Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Tool, Radiohead, and Queens Of The Stone Age. He knew he had to work in music somehow or would never be fulfilled.
He decided to go to recording school and promptly landed in the biggest studios in Los Angeles - cleaning toilets, of course. But his relaxed, laid-back, yet dedicated personality allowed him to climb the ranks. He was soon in the studios, learning from the biggest engineers and producers in the industry.
For over twenty years, he worked, learned, and grew as an engineer, always the grounded yet technically adept partner for the artists. He’s maintained his passion for music and now integrates it into every project he works on.
In his teenage years, he found a deep love for the outdoors, with mountain biking, skiing, and landscape photography. He still appreciates the chance to be outside, especially after long days in the windowless rooms of recording studios. These passions are a chance to participate in a waking meditation, providing the focus and clarity to tap into creativity in the studio consistently.
With his photography, he often pushes the boundaries of reality, enhancing the images to the point of surrealism, pushing them far beyond the raw capture. He draws parallels between photography and music production in his approaches, pushing mixes into realms beyond what the naked eye can see.
He is focused on being the finishing touch and the new perspective the project needs. Many of his clients consider his mixing the final piece of the puzzle that completes their vision in the best way possible.
He uses his passion for music, combined with the skills and wisdom he has absorbed over twenty years working with some of the industry's most creative minds, to help bands shape their sonic identity.
